Itchy, Red Eyes – Patient Case

There seems to be no shortage on SERMO of curious patient cases involving the eye. See here and here for recent examples. Today, an Ophthalmologist/Dermatologist from Italy shares a case involving a peculiar red eye.

This patient is 7 years old, visual acuity: 10/10. Complains of ocular redness and itching, recurring in the spring months in both eyes. Took a course of an eyewash antibiotic containing tobramycin for a week without any improvement of the clinical symptom picture.

What treatment should we try now? What is the diagnosis?
